Bianco del Sillaro
Wine · PGI · 37 municipalities
Recognised since 1999, the Bianco del Sillaro IGT spans 37 municipalities in Emilia-Romagna, including Bagnara di Romagna and Bertinoro. This straw-yellow wine, which must contain at least 70% Albana grapes, stands out from its regional neighbours due to highly flexible production rules. Most notably, winemakers are permitted to blend in up to 15% of wine or must harvested completely outside the designated zone, and the entire vinification process can take place anywhere in Emilia-Romagna. Yields can reach a high maximum of 22.0 tonnes per hectare, resulting in a sapid, dry-to-sweet wine with a minimum alcohol content of 10.0% by volume.
