Unlike its neighbouring Sardinian red wine classifications, superiore bottles strictly forbid any must enrichment and must originate exclusively from traditional, low-yielding alberello-trained vineyards. These exacting viticultural regulations yield dry, highly harmonious red wines with a minimum of 13% alcohol, ensuring a highly specific, undiluted expression of the coastal Sulcis terroir.
