Colli di Luni
Wine · PDO · 17 municipalities
Recognised since 1996, the Colli di Luni wine production zone covers seventeen municipalities, including Ameglia. This denomination sets itself apart from neighbouring regions through its strict viticultural standards for specific quality tiers. While the base Vermentino and Albarola styles permit maximum yields of 11 t/ha, the Vermentino Superiore designation mandates a lower yield limit of 9 t/ha alongside a higher minimum alcohol concentration of 12.5% vol at consumption. Furthermore, the red wines of the appellation must contain at least 50% Sangiovese, producing dry, fine, and harmonious reds that shift from ruby toward garnet with aging.
