Rotae
Wine · PGI · 52 municipalities
Established in 1999, the Rotae IGT represents the smallest, single-province wine zone among Molise's regional IGT designations, restricted entirely to the province of Isernia. Spanning 52 municipalities including Acquaviva d'Isernia, this territory permits maximum yields of 23.0 tonnes per hectare for basic red, white, and rosé blends. While the official guidelines describe a dry, low-tannic red wine with violet reflections and a minimum alcohol level of 10.0% by volume, the appellation currently records zero active producers. This leaves the unique potential of this distinct medio-alto Molise terroir entirely untapped on the commercial market.
