Strevi
Wine · PDO · 1 municipality
Recognised since 2006, the Strevi DOC in Piedmont distinguishes itself from neighboring Moscato appellations by permitting only one highly specific wine style: a sweet passito made from 100% Moscato bianco, with no separate riserva category. Cultivated on sunny hillsides at a minimum altitude of 160 meters within the single municipality of Strevi, the grapes are subjected to strict quality controls, including a low base yield capped at 6.0 tonnes per hectare and a minimum ageing period of 24 months. For the prestigious 'vigna' classification, rules restrict the bottling exclusively to 50 cl containers while requiring a minimum total alcohol of 20% volume.
