Teroldego Rotaliano
Wine · PDO · 3 municipalities
Recognized since 1973, the Teroldego Rotaliano DOC distinguishes itself from neighbouring Trentino denominations by enforcing a strict single-variety rule that permits absolutely no blending, requiring 100% Teroldego grapes. This red wine is cultivated across 87 verified properties confined to a highly restricted zone comprising Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona, and the Grumo hamlet of San Michele all'Adige. The resulting dry, slightly tannic wine displays an intense ruby-red hue with violet edges, releasing a characteristic almond-tinged bitterness. For the Riserva designation, which requires at least two years of aging, the entire maturation process must occur strictly within the Trento province vinification zone.
