Aosta Valley is unique among Italian wine regions for holding ten protected denominations without a single DOCG title, concentrating its entire mountain viticulture under the Valle d'Aosta DOC. This single wine denomination unites 46 verified producers across 38 municipalities, including the steep-sloped vineyards of Arvier and Aymavilles. On the culinary side, the region’s identity is anchored by Fontina DOP, which drives local farming with 108 verified producers operating across a zone of 74 alpine municipalities. In the historic town of Arnad, these culinary and viticultural worlds converge completely, as it is the only commune to claim all 10 of the region's protected denominations.
