What grows here
Loazzolo
26 protected denominations overlap in this municipality.
High in the Langhe astigiane hills, where the Bormida di Millesimo river flows near the hamlet of Quartino, Loazzolo’s steep terrain shapes a unique microclimate. This isolated landscape is the exclusive home of Loazzolo DOC, a sweet late-harvest wine produced only within this single municipality. The rugged pastures also qualify the village to produce the goat-milk Robiola di Roccaverano DOP. Today, seven verified producers based in this valley pocket preserve these demanding agricultural traditions, with six of them opening their doors to offer tastings that reflect the area's sheer, wind-swept elevations.
