Arzana

In the rugged, high-elevation terrain of Sardinia's eastern Ogliastra province, the small mountain community of Arzana—home to around 2,200 residents—has carved a distinct culinary identity from its steep slopes and isolated valleys. This challenging environment nurtures 18 overlapping protected denominations. Foremost among them is Culurgionis d'Ogliastra IGP, a traditional stuffed pasta limited to a zone of 26 municipalities, and the vibrant Ogliastra IGT wine, grown across a small territory of 25. These products reflect the deep connection between Arzana's ancient pastoral heritage and its protected, microclimatic pockets.
